Striland Gryl was a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] the Jedi and Republic Defense Coalition destroyed the Nihil Lightning Crash, a space station which house a crystal array that powered the Nihil's Stormwall barrier. After the destruction, Jedi Master Elzar Mann saw Gryl and fellow Jedi Knight Pal Erlang, both piloting Jedi Vector, fly through a hole in the hull of the station so they could join Defense Coalition teams that were sweeping the station's remaining intact levels to round up any surviving Nihil.[1]

Striland Gryl appeared as a starfighter in the 2024 novel The High Republic: Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3]
