The corpse of Luminara Unduli in a stasis field

A stasis field was a device used for preservation. It worked by altering the passage of time within the area subject to the field; usually either by slowing the passage of time, or stopping it all together. During the High Republic Era, the Jedi Order, on the Wild Space planet Mulita, defeated the Great Progenitor, the leader of the carnivorous plant Drengir species, by capturing her in a giant stasis field.[1] In 5 BBY,[2] The corpse of Jedi Master Luminara Unduli was stored in a stasis field in the Spire on Stygeon Prime.[3] Statis fields where installed on Syliure-31 hyperspace docking rings to ensure that the pilots only aged as fast as the rest of the galaxy.[4]

Stasis fields could also be used to preserve living organisms, such as flowered plants.[5]

"Rise of the Old Masters" takes place before "Breaking Ranks," which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 5 BBY. Because Star Wars: Galactic Atlas also places Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion in 5 BBY, the episodes set in between these two episodes, as well as Droids in Distress, must all take place in 5 BBY.
