Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nick, was a white-bearded humanoid Jedi Knight. He was known for his tradition of delivering presents to the "good" children of the galaxy during the annual holiday of Christmas upon a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer. Eventually, Claus retired from his job and instead enlisted his son, S. Claus, to take up the job. Santa was present at various locations around the galaxy, such as Goodvalor's Little Bivoli on the planet Coruscant and on the Mon Calamari Cruiser Independence during the Galactic Civil War.
Biography[]
Delivering presents[]
Also known as Saint Nick, Santa Claus was a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order.[2] On the morning of the annual holiday of Christmas, he would visit droid-run factories to retrieve toys[3] to distribute among the children of the galaxy whom he deemed "good" by entering through their chimneys. To complete this journey, Claus would take use of his Force abilities[2] but would additionally employ the use of a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder, and Blixem.[3] One of Claus's fellow Jedi,[2] Jedi Master[4] Yoda,[5] donned regalia similar to Claus's distinctive outfit on at least one occasion.[6]
In 3963 BBY, Santa Claus attended the dining establishment Goodvalor's Little Bivoli on the[1] planet[7] Coruscant.[1] At some point, he had a son named S. Claus.[3]
Retirement and Galactic Civil War[]
Eventually, Santa became unable to deliver gifts during Christmas and enlisted his son to take over. As such, Santa and S. Claus were often confused as both were rarely seen by the galactic citizenry. The protocol droid C-3PO claimed that he once watched as Santa, whom he mistook for S. Claus, collected toys from a factory in which C-3PO worked, loading them aboard his sleigh to distribute during Christmas.[3]
During the time of the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, Santa Claus was present onboard the Rebel MC80 Home One type Star Cruiser Independence with his sack of presents.[8]
Personality and traits[]
Santa Claus was a short[3] and light-skinned, white-bearded humanoid.[1] According to C-3PO, Santa had a round stomach, twinkling eyes, merry cheeks, and a bow-shaped mouth.[3]
Powers and abilities[]
Claus had access to Force powers that would allow him to travel around the galaxy in a single morning.[2]
Equipment[]
Santa dressed in a red-and-white[1] fur[3] outfit with a hat,[1] black boots, and a belt. When delivering gifts, Santa carried around a brown sack in which to place them.[8]

The cover of Christmas in the Stars, on which Santa is depicted
In the Star Wars universe, Santa Claus was first mentioned in and pictured on the cover of Christmas in the Stars,[3] a non-canon 1980 Christmas album produced by RSO Records that featured Star Wars–themed Christmas songs.[9] In the real world, Santa Claus is a Christmas legend who is said to bring gifts to children on Christmas Eve.[10]
A number of LEGO sets in the "Star Wars Advent Calendar" line contain minifigures of Star Wars characters dressed as Santa Claus, including Yoda[11] and the Sith Lords Darth Maul[12] and Darth Vader.[13] Concept designer Ralph McQuarrie drew a set of Star Wars holiday cards between 1978 and 1994 that were distributed to Lucasfilm business partners, two of which included Yoda dressed as Santa,[5] with one of these going on to feature on the cover of the eighth issue of the Star Wars Adventure Journal, which was published in November 1995.[6] In the 2006 video game LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, entering the codes "CL4U5H" and "TYH319" at the Mos Eisley Cantina and activating Disguise 3 in the Extras menu allows the player to create a Santa-like character in the character customizer.[14] This character was identified as Santa Claus in a StarWars.com news item.[2] In 2011,[15] Sideshow Collectibles made a "Holiday Yoda" figure based on a 1981 Lucasfilm holiday card.[16]
Santa also appears in the 1993 computer game Star Wars: X-Wing; when the date is set to December 25[8]—the date of Christmas[17]—in the Collector's CD-ROM version, Santa Claus appears on the Independence concourse menu.[8]
