R2-H7 was a green-and-white R2 series astromech droid in the Royal Naboo Security Forces who traveled to the planet Coruscant in 22 BBY in the astromech socket of an N-1 starfighter piloted by Captain Gregar Typho. The pair was part of an escort for Senator Padmé Amidala, whose J-type diplomatic barge was destroyed in an explosion when they reached Coruscant. Amidala survived, but R2-H7 was damaged by flaming debris from the blast.

R2-H7 was an R2 series astromech droid[2] manufactured by Industrial Automaton[1] that served in the security forces that protected the Royal House of the planet Naboo.[3] In 22 BBY,[5] R2-H7 was in the astromech socket of an N-1 starfighter piloted by Captain Gregar Typho as he escorted the J-type diplomatic barge of Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo to the planet Coruscant, where the senator intended to vote in the Galactic Senate on the Military Creation Act. Upon arriving on Coruscant, Typho landed the starfighter on a landing pad as the barge parked nearby and then disembarked from the vehicle.[3]
R2-H7 was knocked down by flaming debris.
R2-H7 then also lowered from the fighter onto the platform as Typho met up with Amdiala, who had flown in disguise based on Typho's fear that returning to Coruscant might prove dangerous for her. His fears were proven correct when a bomb planted by the assassin Zam Wesell detonated and destroyed the barge, killing Amidala's decoy, Cordé. Flaming debris spewed from the explosion, with one piece striking R2-H7 and damaging the droid, knocking it over. R2-H7 was then left smoking on the ground as Typho and Amidala fled to safety.[3]
Characteristics[]
R2-H7 had white, green, and silver plating and a black sensor.[3] It stood 0.96 meters (3ft, 2in) tall.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
R2-H7 first appeared in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[3] The droid was a digital element added during the post-production of the film[2] and was first named by author Tim Veekhoven[6] in Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 55, an issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine[2] published around January 20, 2016.[7]
