Plastoid was a type of material used in armor.

History[]

Clone trooper armor consisted of a set of form-fitting plastoid plates worn over a black body glove.^[1] The armor was vulnerable to direct blaster fire. Plastoid was used in the construction of certain Separatist droids. Stormtrooper armor was made of a plastoid composite that was impervious to chemical warfare. Therefore, it featured an air filter in the helmet and a built in oxygen tank.^[2]

The armor worn by Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader used plastoid. Vader's girdle was made from plastoid.^[3] When Luke Skywalker burned Vader's armor on Endor,^[4] only the charred and twisted remains of the partially molten helmet,^[5] were left behind.^[4]

Plastoid armor was worn by Ap'lek, a member of the Knights of Ren.^[6]
