"I'm requesting authorization and backup for Adelphi squadron in dealing with a pirate siege on Nevarro."
―Carson Teva to Tuttle[4]

The pirate siege on Nevarro occurred when Pirate King Gorian Shard and his men attacked Nevarro[4] around 9 ABY.[3] Bo-Katan Kryze and the Tribe freed Nevarro from the pirates.[4]

Prelude[]

At some point, disgraced magistrate Greef Karga used money he got from Pirate King Gorian Shard to open up a bar on Nevarro,[6] from there he became a Guild Master for the Nevarro branch of the Bounty Hunters' Guild working with the likes of what remains of the Empire.[7] However, after being saved by Grogu,[8] he teamed up with Din Djarin, IG-11, Kuiil, and Cara Dune to defeat the Imperial forces on the city.[9] After the clash, Greef, who became a magistrate again, and Cara Dune, now marshal of Nevarro, worked together to clean up the city, with Cara taking out criminals while Greef makes the town better, turning the bar into a school for children. However, an Imperial base still remained, so he, Cara, Din, and Mythrol infiltrated and destroyed the base, making the planet free from Imperials.[10] After the capture of Moff Gideon, Cara Dune was recruited by the New Republic, leaving Nevarro without a marshal. Nevarro grew quickly, especially after mining operations started on the asteroids near the planet. Greef, now a high magistrate, offered Din the role of marshal, but he refused.[4]

Gideon had secretly been rescued from New Republic capture.[4] Gideon sought to reclaim Nevarro covertly, after his spy Elia Kane claimed the New Republic would likely do nothing to defend Nevarro, Gideon contacted Gorian Shard to attack Nevarro to force the planet to come back to his control.[5] Several of Gorian Shard's men went to Nevarro, trying to enter the school, wanting to drink there as they did before. However, high magistrate Greef Karga refused to let them, first offering them a drink in his office, but after their refusal, a shootout occurred between the pirates and Din and Greef, ending with five pirates being killed, with only Vane surviving to send a message to his boss. Gorian Shard tried to take out Din as he was leaving the system, however he failed to do so, losing five more pirates in the process.[6]

The Battle[]

The Initial Siege[]

While in a meeting planning out the trade district, Gorian Shard's Cumulus Class Corsair arrives over the city's population center, Shard hails Greef Karga and threatens him, noting that Gideon is no longer protecting him. Gorian then begins to fire upon the city, attacking the civilians. Greef sends a message for help to Captain Carson Teva and issues an evacuation order. Instead of escaping on his own, Greef runs with his citizens to a cave away from the city while pirates descend and occupy the city. The New Republic refuses to intervene on a neutral world, in part because of the influence of Elia Kane. Instead, Carson Teva tracks down Din Djarin and sends him Greef's message, hoping he can help. Din is able to convince the Children of the Watch to come to the aid of Nevarro.[4]

Mandalorian Rescuers[]

The Mandalorians arrive in the system on Bo-Katan Kryze's Gauntlet starfighter. Din Djarin's N-1 starfighter flies over the city, catching the eyes of the pirates below. The N-1 starfighter makes an attack run on Gorian Shard's Corsair. Gorian Shard arms his ship and sends out ten Pirate Snub Fighters, led by Vane, to engage the fighter. Din takes several snub fighters down and leds the ships away from the city, giving Bo-Katan Kryze an opening to deploy the troops. Hovering over the city, she deploys team one, consisting of five Mandalorians, who then take five pirates by surprise and neutralize them. Team two, consisting of four Mandalorians, then deploys into the city without immediate notice. Din draws the fighters further away from the Corsair, giving Bo-Katan a chance to attack the ship herself. Shard recalls his fighters to instead attack the Kom'rk fighter. The snub-fighters continue to attack the Kom'rk, but three of which are destroyed from behind by the N-1.[4]

Meanwhile, team two moves towards the courtyard, where the pirates are setting up an ambush. However, a Kowakian monkey-lizard warns them of the attack, causing team two to take cover. A firefight ensues, where several pirates box in team two, pinning them down. Paz Vizsla comes in with team one and takes out the pirates from their back and they advance to the courtyard. The pirates set up a cannon on the roof of Greef's building and it open fires, killing a Mandalorian. A second Mandalorian flies up to try attacking the cannon, but he is killed by the cannon. The cannon continues firing, forcing the Mandalorians back. The Armorer fights her way to the top and kills the pirates above and takes out the cannon. Noticing this, Paz orders an advance on the pirates. The Mandalorians advanced on the pirates who flee the city. The townspeople stop them, with Paz, team two's leader, and a third Mandalorian joining, forcing the pirates to surrender. A Mandalorian flies up and lands on a snub fighter, using his pistols to take the fighter down before flying away. The remaining snub fighter, piloted by Vane, decides to cut his losses and flies away from the battle. Shard is advised to retreat by his crew, as he is down to one last engine, but instead pilots the ship towards the city, ordering the ship to open fire on the town below. Before he could cause anymore deaths, the N-1 and Kom'rk take out the last engine, causing the Corsair to crash to the ground and be destroyed.[4]

Aftermath[]

In the immediate aftermath of the battle, magistrate Greef Karga gifts land on Nevarro to the Mandalorian to settle on, giving them a home. However, the Armorer decides the time has come for them to return to Mandalore. The Armorer sends Bo-Katan and Din to go and bring her old Mandalorian forces to Neverro in order for them to retake Mandalore.[4]
