Ord Pardron was an astronomical object located in the Mid Rim Territories that was a safe world for Senator Mon Mothma's organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire by 2 BBY. By 1 BBY, the Empire had control over Ord Pardron, with Imperial Colonel Brierly Ronan considering it as a possible place to drop off an Imperial Security Bureau agent while the former was on the way to the planet Scarif.
Description[]
Ord Pardron was an astronomical object located within an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice regions.[2] It was situated in grid square R-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
History[]
By 2 BBY,[4] Ord Pardron was a safe world for an organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire that was secretly led by Senator Mon Mothma. That fact was noted on a galactic map that was made[5] that year[4] for Mothma that listed the rebellion's safe worlds as well as starfighter hubs at level five or higher, operations headquarters, shadow planets, and deep space caches. Archivist Hendri Underholt collected the map and included it in The Rebel Files, a compilation of non-electronic documents.[5]
By 1 BBY,[6] the Empire had established control over Ord Pardron.[3] That year,[6] Imperial Colonel Brierly Ronan planned to take the freighter Brylan Ross, which had evidence aboard of a conspiracy against the Empire's Project Stardust, from[3] the Mid Rim[7] planet Aloxor to[3] the Outer Rim Territories[7] world Scarif but wanted to drop off the Imperial Security Bureau agent Dayja Collerand in order not to expose him to details of the secret project. Ronan considered Ord Pardron and[3] the astronomical object[1] Radnor as options as they were disconnected from Stardust while also being on the way to Scarif and with enough Imperial presence that Collerand would not to require a support system. Ronan's considerations were ultimately undermined when the Star Destroyer Stormbird intercepted the Brylan Ross.[3] In 34 ABY,[8] a number screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon displayed a partial map of the galaxy that indicated positions of locations like Ord Pardron.[9]
Behind the scenes[]
Ord Pardron was introduced into the current Star Wars canon through the galactic map in Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, published in 2016.[1] Its first in-universe appearance in that continuity came when it was depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[9] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022.[10]
The asteroid Ord Pardron[11] originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, being first mentioned in the 1993 novel The Last Command, the second volume in Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy.[12] It subsequently had its first full appearance as well as the first visual depiction in the 1998 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rebellion, where it was illustrated by several images that were also reused for other locations.[13]
