Nimban was a terrestrial[4] planet[5] located in the regions known as Hutt Space[1] and the Slice.[2] Situated in grid square S-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it was linked by[1] the Pabol Sleheyron[3] hyperspace route to the celestial bodies Sleheyron and Chalacta.[1]
Nimban was the homeworld of the sentient Nimbanel species,[4] including Mosep Binneed, a servant of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure.[5] At some point, Nimbanel was mentioned in an entry of an artist's journal dedicated to the Nimbanels. The entry was included in a section of the work describing sentient species that originated in dry habitats. The journal was restored, expanded, and displayed at the Graf Archive[4] at some point no earlier than 34 ABY.[6]

Nimban was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set.[7] Nimban was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was created by Pablo Hidalgo and introduced in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies, a 1995 sourcebook published for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[8]
