Mittoblade was an Inner Rim celestial body. During the Waymancy Storm, Chief Sergeant Saens Sukko was among a Galactic Republic group that scaled a magnetic cliff on Mittoblade. There, Sukko helped trigger the destruction of the Clowse Glowstack, associated with the Republic's enemy, the Signatories of Waymancy. The naval officer Ruthbert Ozzel eventually came to be known as the "Savior of Mittoblade."

By the time of the Waymancy Storm conflict[2] of 7811 BBY,[4] Mittoblade was the site of a magnetic cliff, where the structure known as the Clowse Glowstack was situated. The latter was associated with the Galactic Republic's enemy in the war, the Signatories of Waymancy. During that conflict, a group of Republic agents, including Chief Sergeant Saens Sukko, scaled the magnetic cliff. There, Sukko assisted in initiating the collapse of the Clowse Glowstack, although the officer lost both of his legs to a Doshan raider in the process.[2]
The Republic's Supreme Chancellor Nagratha later noted the events at Mittoblade as one of the heroic moments of the war at a speech delivered on the 25th anniversary of Victory in the Waymancy Storm in 7786 BBY.[2] Ruthbert Ozzel, a naval officer and ancestor of Imperial[3] Admiral[5] Kendal Ozzel, eventually came to be known as the "Savior of Mittoblade," a fact which Kendal, holding the rank of captain at the time, noted in the Imperial Handbook: A Commander's Guide, an Imperial Military manual published[3] by 0 BBY.[6]
Behind the scenes[]
Mittoblade was originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the section that would have mentioned the astronomical object, authored by Daniel Wallace, was cut before the book's release.[2]
The information regarding Mittoblade was later released in 2014 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and[2] Del Rey editor[7] Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.[2] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Mittoblade system, and therefore the celestial body itself, in grid square K-8.[1]
