Laan was a Falleen male Jedi Knight who lived during the High Republic Era. In 382 BBY, they and dozens of other Jedi attended the wedding of Prince Phan-tu Zenn and Princess Xiri A'lbaran on the Outer Rim planet Eiram to serve as the event's security. However, when a skirmish with bounty hunters broke out during the wedding ceremony, Laan was killed by a Lasat bounty hunter's electric bo-rifle.

The Falleen male Laan served as a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era and at some point made the acquaintance of Jedi Master Creighton Sun.[2] In 382 BBY,[1] Laan accompanied dozens of Jedi to the Outer Rim planet Eiram to serve as security for the wedding of Prince Phan-tu Zenn and Princess Xiri A'lbaran—heirs of Eiram and the Outer Rim planet E'ronoh, respectively. The night before the wedding, Laan and their colleagues attended a ballroom event. The next day, the Jedi stood guard in a courtyard venue in Erasmus Capital City to protect the wedding's many attendees. As the Jedi waited for the event to begin, Laan mingled with the event's guests. When Sun inquired how much longer the ceremony would be, the Falleen informed him that it had not yet started.[2]

When bounty hunters attempted to infiltrate the wedding venue to capture the Republic envoy Axel Greylark, the Jedi rose to defend the wedding guests under Sun's leadership. During the skirmish, a Lasat bounty hunter struck Laan in the chest with their electric bo-rifle. Sun saw the Jedi seize violently, coming to the man's aid by severing the Lasat's hands with his lightsaber. However, when the Jedi Master saw Laan was dead, he closed his colleague's eyes and wished them farewell.[2]

Personality and traits[]

Laan had a young appearance at the time of their death. Sun was saddened by the Jedi's passing, briefly holding the man in his arms after their passing.[2]

Equipment[]

While on Eiram, Laan donned formal Jedi robes and wielded a lightsaber.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Laan appeared in Convergence, a 2022 novel written by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II.[2]
