"You look lost."
"I'm here for Kaba Baiz."
"What makes you think he's here?"
―Kaba Baiz and Din Djarin[2]

Kaba Baiz was a Klatooinian boss of a meat packing plant on the space station Glavis Ringworld. Baiz had a 9850-credit bounty placed on him and was tracked down by the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin in 9 ABY. Djarin confronted Baiz, who pretended to be another individual in order to throw off the bounty hunter. The Mandalorian, however, was not fooled by the Klatooinian. Baiz's workers attacked Djarin, who defeated them all before cutting Baiz himself in two and bringing his head back to an Ishi Tib guild master.

Biography[]

"I'm gonna give the rest of you the opportunity to walk out that door. I have no quarrel with you."
"They're not going anywhere. Looks to me like you're surrounded."

Kaba Baiz was confronted by Din Djarin, who was hunting him for his bounty.

In 9 ABY,[1] the Klatooinian Kaba Baiz was the boss of a meat packing plant on the[2] space station Glavis Ringworld,[3] which employed many other Klatooinians. At that time, though, Baiz came to owe credits to someone and managed to have a 9850-credit bounty placed on him. Hired by an Ishi Tib guild master, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin made his way to the plant and confronted Baiz while he and one of his workers counted New Republic credits. When the Mandalorian asked for Baiz, revealing a tracking fob for the Klatooinian, the boss pretended to be a different individual and asked what the bounty hunter wanted of him.[2]

After Djarin pointed out the Klatooinian's debt, Baiz falsely promised to let the Mandalorian's target know when he saw him, only for the bounty hunter to reveal a bounty puck that displayed Baiz's face and bounty. Baiz denied the face on the puck was him, but the Mandalorian then told the boss's workers in the room to leave. With his workers not moving, the Klatooinian declared Djarin was surrounded and offered him a chance to discuss alternative options. The bounty hunter, however, stated that he would bring Baiz in alive or dead.[2]

Din Djarin cut Kaba Baiz in two using the Darksaber.

As Djarin drew his blaster pistol, one of Baiz's workers disarmed him, and the Mandalorian fought the Baiz's workers around him, killing them all. Rising from his seat, Baiz drew his own blaster pistol and fired at the bounty hunter. However, Djarin dug a knife into Baiz's chest and threw him onto his table, cutting him in two with the Darksaber, a black lightsaber and a symbolic weapon for the Mandalorians. With another worker inspecting the room and quickly fleeing, the bounty hunter cut off Baiz's head and convinced the group of Klatooinian meat packers, who had come to confront him, to go and plunder Baiz's credits. Djarin then took the head of Baiz back to the Ishi Tib guild master, who gave him the Klatooinian's reward and some information in exchange.[2]

Personality and traits[]

"That's not me. That doesn't even look like me."
―Baiz denies his identity[2]

A Klatooinian, Kaba Baiz had light brown skin and brown eyes. He had a black tattoo on his left forehead and multiple metal piercings: four studs lining the bridge of his nose and two half rings on the left flap of his chin. When confronted by Din Djarin, the Klatooinian denied his identity to evade capture by the bounty hunter. Even when shown his own face on a bounty puck, he chose to deny that it looked like him. With his efforts unfruitful, Baiz instead threatened the Mandalorian with an attack from his workers, hoping it would prompt a negotiation.[2]

Equipment[]

Baiz wore a white apron with a red, brown, and green patterned tunic over it and brown trousers, boots, and a belt. He wielded a blaster pistol.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

"Still I can't believe I was given the opportunity to bring these two characters to life. Grateful beyond words."
―Ardeshir Radpour, on playing Kaba Baiz and the Klatooinian Boss[4]

Kaba Baiz appeared in "Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian" of the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett,[2] which was released on January 26, 2022.[5] He was portrayed by Ardeshir Radpour,[2] who also served as the performance double for the "Klatooinian Boss" character in "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm"[6] and "Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor,"[7] respectively released on January 19[5] and February 9 of that year.[8]
