A Jedi Master of the Jedi Order lived during the Republic Era and specialized in the field of astrophysics. By 41 BBY, they began training the Jedi Padawan Jape and formed a strong bond with their student. As part of Jape's training, the Jedi Master took him to explore unique phenomena such as nebulae and black holes and also allowed him to study in the Grand Orbital Observatory of Coruscant. One of Jape's friends—the Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi—envied the relationship between the Jedi Master and their Padawan, often feeling that the pair's working affinity was much better than what he shared with his own Master, Qui-Gon Jinn.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, one of Jape's friends, envied the relationship the Jedi Master and his friend shared.

A Jedi Master lived during the Republic Era and served the Jedi Order. The Master specialized in the field of astrophysics, which centered around the study of astronomical occurrences in the galaxy.[1] By 41 BBY,[3] they took the Force-sensitive individual Jape as a Padawan learner, and the pair forged a strong working relationship as the latter pursued his studies in the Jedi Temple on[2] the Core Worlds[4] planet Coruscant. During his apprenticeship, Jape studied in the same scholarly field as his Master and grasped the concepts of astrophysics with ease.[2] As part of Jape's training, the Jedi Master took him to explore unique phenomena such as nebulae and black holes. When not traveling, the Master allowed their Padawan to spend time studying in the Grand Orbital Observatory of Coruscant, a structure designed to observe astronomical occurrences.[1]

One of the Padawan's friends—Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi—was jealous of Jape and his Master's close affinity, often comparing it to his own rocky relationship with his Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn.[2] In 41 BBY,[3] Kenobi thought about the Master, considering them a perfect pairing for Jape. When Kenobi went on a mission to the Outer Rim planet Lenahra not long afterward, he continued contemplating his friend's close connection with his Master and feared it would lessen the bond between their Padawan friend group.[2] The following year,[5] Kenobi recalled his peer's photos of the interesting phenomena from his travels with his Master. Kenobi felt that his trips to the Coruscant Jedi Temple's Archives were boring compared to the exploratory adventures of Jape and his Master.[1]

Personality and traits[]

The Jedi Master and their Padawan worked well together, with Jape appreciating their teacher's field of study and scholarly demeanor. Kenobi envied Jape and the Master's relationship, viewing their bond as a good match between teacher and student.[2]

As a member of the Jedi Order, the Jedi Master was a Force-sensitive individual trained to wield the Force.[2]
