Isde Naha

Isde Naha was an Outer Rim Territories world situated in the Yarith sector and at the intersection of the Corellian Trade Spine and Lipsec Run hyperspace routes. It was the homeworld of the nomadic enclave known as the Clan of the Toribota, which believed that the star of the world NaJedha was the same star that their ancestors dubbed First Light. Consequently, the enclave settled NaJedha's moon, Jedha, to which they attached religious significance.

Isde Naha was a world^[4] located in the Yarith sector,^[3] a part of the Greater Javin portion of the Outer Rim Territories.^[1] It also lay on the trailing edge of^[4] the Western Reaches.^[2] Isde Naha was situated on the Corellian Trade Spine super-hyperroute, which connected it to the celestial bodies Ozu and Togominda, as well as the hyperspace route known as the Lipsec Run, which linked it to the astronomical objects Bettel^[3] and Taul.^[5]

History[]

At some point by 1 BBY,^[6] the early ancestors of Isde Naha's native nomadic enclave known as the Clan of the Toribota saw a star^[4] in the night sky that was dubbed the First Light.^[7] Astronomical calculations by scientists^[8] pointed the enclave to the star of the Mid Rim^[4] planet^[8] NaJedha, which the Clan of the Toribota believed to have been the First Light.^[7]

Consequently,^[7] by 1 BBY,^[6] the enclave^[7]—including the human Omisha Joyo, who hailed from Isde Naha^[9]—migrated to^[7] and settled^[8] NaJedha's moon, Jedha—revered by the group as a holy site.^[7] There, the Clan of the Toribota established a temple.^[10] In 34 ABY,^[11] several screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon displayed a partial map of the galaxy that indicated Isde Naha's position.^[12]

Behind the scenes[]

Isde Naha was introduced in the current Star Wars canon via a mention in the eighteenth issue of the De Agostini magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon,^[3] which was published around May 6, 2015.^[13] Isde Naha's first in-universe appearance came in the form of being depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida^[12] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022.^[14] The planet Isde Naha was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game supplements "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin"^[15] and "Rough and Tundra," both of which where published on Wizards.com on March 25, 2004.^[16]

An apparent contradiction exists related to Isde Naha's location relative to the Western Reaches. The 2016 reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide by Pablo Hidalgo establishes that the world was situated on the "edge" of that region,^[4] whereas the 2019 book Star Wars: The Galactic Explorer's Guide by Jason Fry instead places the segment of the Corellian Trade Spine hyperspace route^[17] that Isde Naha was located on^[3] near the center of the Western Reaches. This article assumes that Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, as the source directly referring to Isde Naha, is correct.^[17]
