- "Admiral! Lock down the hyperspace rings! Hurry!"
- ―Anakin Skywalker, to Wullf Yularen
The hyperspace transport ring was a device that provided hyperspace travel capabilities to starfighters with no on-board hyperdrive, such as the Delta-7[8] and 7B Aethersprite-class light interceptors,[9] and the V-19 Torrent starfighter.[4] The Syliure-31 hyperspace docking ring was one such transport ring.[10]
Darth Vader's personal V-wing squadron used hyperspace rings during a pursuit of weapon hijackers from Cham Syndulla's Free Ryloth Movement.[5]
During the New Republic Era, Morgan Elsbeth's forces constructed the Eye of Sion, a prototype hyperdrive ring hundreds of times larger than a typical one and, according to architect droid Huyang, powerful enough to complete extragalactic journeys, in order to retrieve Grand Admiral Thrawn from his exile.[3]
