Horn Ambigene hailed from the Tydane system, from which afterwards he was responsible for leading an anti-Galactic Republic militia during the Republic Era for a number of decades. By the time of the Clone Wars, however, Ambigene joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems in their fight against the Republic, as a general in their ground forces. Amid his service to the Separatist cause, Ambigene was stationed on the Bryx sector planet Pzandias by Count Dooku, the government's Head of State. There, he was tasked as the Commander of Organic Training to train other Separatists to defend their homeworlds from the Republic.[1]

Horn Ambigene was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Horn Ambigene was introduced in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a 2012 reference book authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[2]
