"Hey, Dad. You remember what day today is? A special anniversary maybe?"
"How could I forget? The day I brought little Elee home to you! You may love her more than you love me."
―Salju and Harta discuss Elee[1]

Harta was an Ishi Tib male who lived on the Outer Rim planet Batuu with his daughter Salju and owned the Black Spire Station garage. He often traveled the galaxy, bringing home gifts for the young girl. One day, he returned home with a pet therii, whom Salju named Elee. In 34 ABY, on the anniversary of Harta bringing Elee home, the father and his daughter recalled an event where Elee spilled a drum of oil.

Biography[]

"The bigger she got, the more trouble she was. Remember when she knocked over that oil drum? It took forever to clean up!"
―Harta, to Salju[1]

Harta returns home with a gift for Salju.

Harta was an Ishi Tib male[1] who lived in Black Spire Outpost on[2] the Outer Rim[3] planet Batuu and who was the father of the human woman Salju,[2] who was born around 9 ABY.[4] When Salju was young, Harta traveled all over the galaxy and brought back souvenirs and gifts from the places he traveled. One day, the father brought home a pet therii, whom Salju named Elee. He made her a bed of her own so she could be cozy at night, even though Elee often decided to sleep in Salju's bed. Salju enjoyed tinkering in her father's garage,[2] Black Spire Station, and the Ishi Tib often relied on her to run it while he was traveling for business.[4] He also introduced his daughter to the Surabat River Valley, where she would take Elee to play.[2]

In 34 ABY,[5] on the anniversary of Harta bringing Elee to Salju, Harta recalled an incident where the growing Elee knocked over an oil drum and joked that Salju might love the therii more than him. He later asked his daughter if Elee seemed happy after the woman returned from a visit to see her friend, and he was glad to hear that she was indeed happy.[1]

Personaity and traits[]

"I'm so glad. Thank the skies you had her to grow up with so you'd never be lonely."
―Harta expresses his joy at Elee being happy[1]

Harta often brought back gifts for his daughter, Salju, when returning from his travels.[2] He also trusted Salju to run Black Spire Station while he was away,[4] and he introduced his daughter to the Surabat River Valley, where she would eventually take Elee. He also built the young therii a bed so that she could sleep cozily.[2] Although he showed mild frustration with Elee due to her immense size and unintentional destructiveness, he ultimately hoped Elee would be happy[1] with her new family in the valley[2] and was elated to find out that was indeed the case.[1] Harta had green skin.[2]

Equipment[]

Harta wore a white shirt, brown vest, pants, belt, and boots, and brown fingerless gloves.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Harta was created as part of the official backstory for Black Spire Station, a location within the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[4] which first opened at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019.[6] The father first appeared in the Star Wars: Datapad mobile game companion to the themed land[1]—which launched on the same day[7]—in a series of transmissions titled "A Lifelong Companion."[1]

One of these establishes that Salju is twenty-five years old, and as the events of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge can be placed in 34 ABY per Star Wars: Timelines, she must have been born around 9 ABY.
  5. Star Wars: Timelines dates the Resistance presence on Batuu to 34 ABY. As the transmissions on the Star Wars: Datapad application take place concurrently to the Resistance presence, they must also take place in 34 ABY.
