The Galactic Frontier,[3] also known as the Republic Frontier,[7] was a region in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy.[8] Life on the frontier was often filled with hardship and scarceness. However, in an effort to unite the galaxy[9] and bring its help into the Outer Rim, the Galactic Republic made efforts to expand in the frontier.[10]
As such, the frontier was home to the Starlight Beacon,[11] a space station that acted as a beacon, sending out a signal that guided travelers and boosted communication networks in the Outer Rim.[10] During the High Republic Era, the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts was founded by a group of like-minded scientists and adventurers that were interested in researching and cataloging the myriad of new species that were discovered on the Frontier worlds.[12] The Frontier also contained the Kazlin system and its sector,[3] as well as the planet Shuraden.[7]
