"I'm Cobb Vanth. Lawman and de facto mayor of what used to be Mos Pelgo."
"Freetown, now."
―Cobb Vanth and Issa-Or[1]

Freetown,[2] formerly known as Mos Pelgo,[4] was a town[1] located in the northern hemisphere of the planet Tatooine.[5] In 4 ABY,[6] the Mining Collective rounded up the citizens of the town for labor, with one man,[4] Sheriff[3] Cobb Vanth, stealing a camtono of silicax oxalate crystals from them before fleeing into the desert. Vanth eventually encountered a Jawa sandcrawler and traded the crystals for a set of Mandalorian armor.[4] Soon after, the miner and representative of the newly established organization Red Key Company Adwin Charu arrived to barter with the Jawas. When Charu tried to claim the armor for himself, Vanth shot him before leaving.[3] Returning to Mos Pelgo, he single-handedly liberated the town from the Mining Collective.[4] He became the de facto mayor and protector of the town.[1]

The city became known as Freetown[1] and was the site of a battle between the Red Key Raiders and Vanth's allies.[7] Later, Vanth defended the people from Tusken Raiders, who attacked their village.[4] By around 9 ABY,[8] the town was once again known as Mos Pelgo. The Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin traveled to Mos Pelgo searching for another Mandalorian. After meeting Vanth, he acquired his armor after helping him slay a krayt dragon that had been killing Mos Pelgo's livestock.[4] After this victory, the town was once again renamed Freetown. Djarin later returned to the town, and requested Vanth to assist Boba Fett in his fight against the Pyke Syndicate. After Djarin left, Cad Bane arrived at the town, and shot deputy Scott and Vanth.[2] The town's garrison later joined the battle against the Pykes in revenge.[9]
