Video game[]
- So as not to confuse it with board games, card games, etc.Lord Hydronium 02:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Sure. -Fnlayson 03:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

- I agree, but then all other types of game should also be specified, I guess. KEJ 08:41, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Don't really care which, but would like consistency so I'll go with everybody else. Green Tentacle (Talk) 16:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Alrighty, I'll go with video game. -- Ozzel 17:26, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

- Video game helps disambiguate. I can't see any reason to be conservative here. TIE Defender 06:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- No reason other than consistency. Wildyoda 23:06, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Game[]
- I'll be the dissenting opinion. See comments for reason. - JMAS 15:46, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- A lot of work for a not entirely worthy/correct goal. PC = software. Console = video game. Both together = game. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:39, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- (From wikipedia:video_game) The various types of electronic devices that video games are played on are known as platforms and examples of these are personal computers and video game consoles. :-) Wildyoda 23:05, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Changed my vote. Video or other can be added if there happens to be games with same name. -Fnlayson 05:57, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Unless an identical title is used for an RPG sourcebook/scenario or other non-video "game." —Silly Dan (talk) 00:13, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I could go either way, but not both. If there's any particular reason we should favor a particular option, please do share. -- Ozzel 02:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Something similar will probably need to be done with other types of games, such as role playing games and board games. -Fnlayson 03:24, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'd be for video game, but only assuming we'd change board games, for example, as well. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, FourDot's right. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:30, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't see why this needs to change. Unless there is a specific example where the title is both a video game AND a board game, or Board game AND an RPG, then why differentiate them. I don't think this is the case for any game title, so I think game should suffice just fine. - JMAS 15:46, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- What is this about? Karohalva 05:59, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- It means that we are inconsistent with our video game articles. Some have (game) after them, and some have (video game). I'm just trying to get a standard. -- Ozzel 20:05, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Then why don't we just change them all to (game), whether it be a board game, card game, video game, or RPG? Then the only rare exception would be if (and I highly doubt this would be applicable for any game at present) the same title was two or more of the different types of games. ie Video and Board, or RPG and CCG, etc. - JMAS 23:46, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Because more specific categories help people find things better. It's why we have categories in the first place. jSarek 02:51, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
