Fabrin was an Expansion Region planet located in the Circarpous sector. It was home to the Fabritech corporation, which owned the entire world and attracted large sums of money from the Galactic Empire due to its demand for Fabritech's sensor products. The planet's surface featured both vast factory districts and luxurious beach resorts on which programmers lived and worked.
Description[]
Fabrin was a terrestrial planet[3] located in the Fabrin system, a part of the Circarpous sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Expansion Region.[1] It was situated on the Nanth'ri Route hyperlane between the Circarpous and Gyndine systems.[2] Fabrin's surface featured plains and beaches,[3] and it shared its name with Fabrin, a city on[5] the Core Worlds[6] planet[7] Thorgeld I, where the mansion of Kvarn Mandel, the head of the Fabritech corporation, was located in.[5]
History[]
Fabrin, home to the company Fabritech, greatly benefitted from the Galactic Empire's efforts to re-vitalize the stagnant economy of the Expansion Region. The large sums of Imperial credits being transferred to Fabrin due to the Imperial Military's demand for Fabritech-manufactured sensor technology strengthened commerce along the entire Nanth'ri Route.[3]
Inhabitants[]
Fabrin was wholly owned and operated by the Fabritech corporation,[3] which manufactured sensor and communications devices.[4] The company employed both programmers and working-class overseers, as well as droids, there.[3]
Locations[]
The headquarters of Fabritech and the majority of its manufacturing facilities were located on Fabrin.[4] Thousands of vast, droid-operated factories dedicated to a single product each dominated Fabrin's plains and formed manufacturing districts. In contrast, Fabritech programmers lived and worked on highly luxurious beach resorts.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Fabrin was first mentioned in the 2004 reference book The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology by W. Haden Blackman.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Fabrin system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square O-12.[2]
