A language was used by the Nightsisters of Dathomir, primarily in their magick spells. Mother Talzin used it in her transformation of Savage Opress into a warrior of the dark side,^[1] and Old Daka would later use it in the Chant of Resurrection in order to resurrect the undead.^[3] Symbols of the language, were carved into the sides of the holder of Count Dooku's lock of hair.^[3][4] Talzin again spoke the language after Darth Maul returned to his homeworld, and Talzin exorcised him.^[5] Later around 14 BBY,^[6] during an encounter with the Jedi Cal Kestis, the Nightsister Merrin repeated the Chant of Resurrection, raising the undead Nightsisters. When hair-braiding together cloth for burial pods, Nightisters recited a spell of protection.^[7] In 9 ABY,^[8] the Great Mothers used the Chant of Resurrection on Grand Admiral Thrawn's Night Troopers to aid him against Ahsoka Tano, while they were escaping Peridea.^[2]
