Casitine Loscar was a scout for the resistance fighter Saw Gerrera's partisans while they were based in the Catacombs of Cadera on the moon Jedha. Using a variety of face-concealing disguises, Loscar listened for valuable intel in the marketplaces of Jedha City and was present there in 1 BBY when rebel agents Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor were there, ultimately helping to capture them with a group of other partisans following a partisan ambush of an Imperial convoy in Tythoni Square.

Market eavesdropper[]

Casitine Loscar served as a scout for the partisans in the markets of Jedha City.

Casitine Loscar was a member of the resistance fighter Saw Gerrera's partisans during the group's campaigns against the Galactic Empire. While Gerrera was based out of the Catacombs of Cadera on the moon Jedha, Loscar served as a scout there and eavesdropped for valuable intel while navigating the crowded marketplaces[1] of Jedha City on the moon.[2]

In 1 BBY,[3] he[1] was moving through a crowded street near one of the city's marketplaces when he walked past[2] the criminals Doctor Cornelius Evazan and Ponda Baba[4] as Baba shouted at the rebel agent Jyn Erso for bumping into Evazan. After Erso and her ally Cassian Andor moved away from the criminals, Loscar walked behind them into another busy market area and was stood looking at a stall next to the Guardian of the Whills Chirrut Îmwe when Îmwe called out to Erso. As Erso and Îmwe conversed,[2] Loscar's fellow partisan Dafir Toogan[1] stood beside the scout.[2]

Ambush and prisoner capture[]

Loscar interacted with a container on the edge of Tythoni Square and then stood among crowds of onlookers in the square as an Imperial convoy carrying kyber crystals passed through. The partisans had an ambush set up in the square, and many emerged from the surrounding buildings and crowds to overwhelm the Imperials and steal the crystals before more Imperial forces arrived and caused the surviving partisans to flee. Soon after the ambush, Loscar stood with an elderly human in a separate square in the city as a group of Imperial stormtroopers questioned Erso, Andor, and their droid companion K-2SO nearby.[2]

Casitine Loscar witnessed Chirrut Îmwe attack a group of stormtroopers.

Îmwe then entered the square from behind Loscar and proceeded to attack the Imperials, causing Loscar and the other onlookers present to scatter. Loscar soon returned however with a large group of partisans led by the Tognath Benthic, who took Erso, Andor, Îmwe, and Îmwe's partner, Baze Malbus, captive, with some of the group escorting the prisoners back to Gerrera at the catacombs. The Empire then evacuated its forces from Jedha before the Death Star superweapon fired upon the moon, destroying both Jedha City and the catacombs.[2] Many partisans perished in the blast, although Benthic and some others did survive.[5]

Personality and traits[]

Casitine Loscar had light skin.[2]

Equipment[]

While in the markets of Jedha City, Loscar wore a brown poncho over two layers of brown shirts and had several face-concealing disguises that he used including a blue and black helmet[1] that matched one worn by at least one other individual in the market.[2] The scout's fellow partisans nicknamed this helmeted look "Tin Head."[1]

Additional footage of Casitine Loscar appeared in the "Together" TV spot.

Casitine Loscar was created for the Anthology Series film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,[2] which was released on December 16, 2016.[6] Concept art including Loscar titled "Jedha Extras Version 5A" was drawn for the film by costume concept artist Adam Brockbank.[7] Prior to the film's release, Loscar was first revealed in the film's first full trailer,[8] which was first aired on August 11, 2016.[9]

The "Together" TV spot for the film, released on November 11, 2016, showed additional footage of Loscar not used in the film in which he is walking alongside the other individual wearing the same helmet.[10] The character was then identified in the 2023 reference book Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and Emily Shkoukani.[1]
