Beltire was a celestial body located in the regions known as the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches.[2] It was situated in grid square J-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid and lay on a hyperspace route connecting it to the astronomical objects Riflor and the Entropian Hive.[1] In 4 ABY, after the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance liberated Beltire.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Beltire was first introduced as part of the name of the Beltire Liberation in the second issue of Marvel Comics' Star Wars: Shattered Empire comic-book mini-series. The issue was written by Greg Rucka[4] and published on October 7, 2015.[5] Beltire was subsequently denoted as a celestial body on a map[3] created for the reference book Star Wars: Timelines and given out as a promotional poster at Celebration Anaheim[6] on May 27, 2022[7] prior to the book's release during Celebration Europe[8] of April 7 through 10, 2023.[9]
