"The trading council is committed to making the Entropian Hive a safe, luxurious port of call for all visitors…but especially for our heroic saviors in the New Republic."
Ginruda[2]

The Entropian Hive was an asteroid[2] in the Mid Rim Territories that was situated along a hyperspace route that spanned between the Mid Rim world Cerea and the Outer Rim world Lutrillia.[1] The asteroid was used as a black market trading post, controlled by the Entropian Hive Trading Council. Yrica Quell was sent to the Entropian Hive by Caern Adan to recruit Nath Tensent, former Rebel Alliance pilot, into the New Republic.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

"When writing, say like: Okay, Quell is going to meet up with Nath for the first time in some sort of…sleazy cantina-y place—you know—I wanted to find—ok—well, that's…that's Star Wars. Like sleazy cantina-y place is good. What's the spin on—you know—what that place looks like, what's the status of it, what the locals are like that's going to feel uniquely post-Endor."
―Alexander Freed[3]

The Entropian Hive first appeared in the 2019 novel Alphabet Squadron, written by Alexander Freed.[2] When creating the location, Freed wanted to establish a "sleazy cantina"-like place for Yrica Quell to meet Nath Tensent which felt unique to the post-Battle of Endor period.[3]
