A male individual was the father of the human scientist Avon Starros. Prior to Avon being sent to the outpost Port Haileap on the planet Haileap by her mother—the Galactic Republic senator Ghirra Starros[1]—by 232 BBY,[2] Avon's father left the family to chase a dream of mapping hyperspace routes and to live on the edges of Wild Space. Afterward, Ghirra did not say anything except to tell her daughter that her father would not be joining them for dinner ever again.[1]
That year,[2] while on the moon Wevo, Avon was asked by the Dalnan Honesty Weft why she had been sent to Port Haileap. The question prompted Avon to mentally recall that she been told by an emotional-support droid to talk about her experience of being kidnapped—the reason why she had been sent to Haileap—though also noted it conflicted with the way her family lived their lives, thinking back to when her father left and her mother's reaction.[1]
