Two Kage were the parents of a Kage brother and sister, the latter of whom eventually changed her name to Abda. The parents resided on their homeworld Quarzite with their children as part of a clan and trained their offspring in combat training. When the pair's son got married to their spouse at a large wedding, their sister was upset with how her parents treated her and her brother disparately and opted to leave Quarzite. In 382 BBY, Abda reflected on her negative feelings toward her upbringing and parents' combat training.

Biography[]

Quarzitecrystals

Abda's parents lived on Quarzite with their children.

Two Kage were the parents of a Kage son and a daughter in a clan on their homeworld, the crystalline world Quarzite. During the High Republic Era, the parents instructed their children in combat training to follow and uphold the warrior traditions that their culture expected of them. At some point, the son got married to their spouse, with their wedding being one of the largest their clan—including the parents—had hosted.[1]

The daughter left her homeworld on the day of the brother's wedding, unsettled by the knowledge that she would never be as good of a fighter as her brother in her parents' eyes. She chose to take the name of Abda to symbolically distance herself from her former life, feeling that if she had remained, she would have been expected to follow the same path as her parents and brother in life. After becoming part of the Path of the Open Hand cult, Abda came to resent how harshly her parents had treated her compared to her brother, reflecting that the galaxy was often harder on daughters.[1]

While infiltrating a pre-wedding party in the planet E'ronoh's royal palace[1] in 382 BBY,[2] Abda thought of her brother's wedding, remembering her distaste for her family's event and those like it. After being detained for attempting to poison the E'roni Princess Xiri A'lbaran that day, she was held in E'ronoh's capital citythe Rook. When Path of the Open Hand operative Axel Greylark attacked her with poison under Path leader the Mother's orders, Abda tried to remember the combat training she had done with her brother and parents to defend herself. However, Greylark succeeded in poisoning her, resulting in her death.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Abda resented her family while living with them, thinking that her parents and other relatives would always regard her brother as better at everything than she could be. Dissatisfied, she eventually opted to leave Quarzite and her family behind to seek a new life following her brother's wedding, which was considered one of the biggest her family had hosted.[1]

Skills and abilities[]

The parents were proficient in combat, as they followed the warrior ways of their people.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Abda's parents were mentioned in Convergence, a 2022 novel written by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II.[1]
