ARC trooper armor was the kit issued to the Grand Army of the Republic's elite ARC troopers. ARC trooper armor consisted of at least two sets, one being the Phase I ARC Trooper Armor used during the initial days of the Clone Wars as a template of Phase II clone trooper armor with additional equipment and characteristics. After the implementation of Phase II, Phase II ARC Trooper Armor was introduced.

ARC trooper armor was a type of clone trooper armor used by Advanced Recon Commandos, also known as ARC troopers, during the Clone Wars.[5] For some time, ARC trooper armor consisted of the Phase I ARC Trooper Armor,[2] one version of which had a helmet identical to the standard phase I clone trooper armor.[6] Another version[5] of the phase I kit,[2] however, featured a unique helmet design; that helmet retained the the sides, back, and fin of the standard phase I helmet, but the front resembled[5] the face of the eventual phase II clone trooper armor helmet,[7] albeit but with a more triangular structure.[5] Both versions of the Phase I set featured additional gray armor plating compared to the average clone, a double pauldron, additional equipment, a kama, a rangefinder, ammunition pouches, a backpack, and two holsters.[5][6]
ARC trooper armor was the basis for the phase II clone trooper armor[3] that became standard issue to all clone troopers in the later days of the Clone Wars. As standard clone troopers shifted into their new armor, ARC troopers also transitioned into a new set of gear,[7] the Phase II ARC Trooper Armor,[3] which closely resembled the baseline clone armor.[7]

An ARC trooper wears the Phase I variant that came with a standard issue helmet.
Several Advanced Recon Commandos from Rancor Battalion used ARC trooper armor, including Clone Commander Colt, Clone Commander Havoc, Clone Commander Blitz, and Clone Commander Hammer.[8] ARC troopers Fives and Echo wore Phase I ARC armor after their promotions,[9] with Fives later transitioning to Phase II.[10] As an ARC trooper, Jesse used ARC armor by the Battle of Anaxes.[11]
Behind the scenes[]
Before an update, the video game Star Wars Battlefront II incorrectly depicted/labeled Phase I ARC trooper armor as Phase II.
