"Holo" was the nickname of a[3] non-binary[2] human[1] who served as an ace pilot[3] in the First Order Special Forces.[4] "Holo" piloted a red TIE/ba interceptor and wore a matching First Order TIE flight suit.[1] At some point,[5] they[3] participated in a skirmish within the Dassal system that involved other starfighters of the TIE fighter series.[5]
"Holo" had light skin, brown eyes, and brown hair pulled back into a ponytail.[1] Although skillful, they were less skilled than fellow pilot Major Elrik Vonreg,[3] one of the First Order's most skilled pilots.[6]
Behind the scenes
"Holo" was first mentioned in "A Legend Reborn," an article on Fantasy Flight Games' official website detailing a then-upcoming expansion for the Star Wars: X-Wing Second Edition miniatures game on January 8, 2020.[3] The expansion, named Major Vonreg's TIE Expansion Pack, was released on January 31 that year[7] and included a card representing "Holo."[5]
Brooks Flugaur-Leavitt, who was in charge of the design and development of Major Vonreg's TIE Expansion Pack,[8] established on Twitter that "Holo" was intended to be non-binary.[2] Their first appearance was in the mobile game Star Wars: Starfighter Missions,[1] which was released on November 19, 2020.[9]

Star Wars: Build Your Own X-Wing 61 (Starfighter Aces: Major Baron Elrik Vonreg – First Order Ace) established that elite pilots in the First Order had splashes of red on their armor or full red armor. Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition further defined these pilots with red armor as members of the First Order Special Forces. As Star Wars: Starfighter Missions depicts "Holo" in red armor, they must have been a member of the First Order Special Forces.
