Shinjiro Hohoemi (
Appearance[]
Shinjiro is a lean, yet bulky, man with long blond hair tied in a ponytail with light green tips at the end of it. He has big blue eyes and a wide mouth, often sporting a grin, as well as disproportionately large forearms and big round hands, though his fingers are normal.
He wears a pink long sleeve v-neck shirt with white frills at the neck and at the ends of the sleeves, along with burgundy pants with a gray cutaway at the midsection and yellow buttons, as well as a belt with a yellow buckle. He wears a black mask over the top half of his face and on his head is a red cowboy hat with two large paintbrushes with blue and magenta bristles, respectively.
Personality[]
Shinjiro is a passionate artist who aspires to share his work with others, though after failing to get into an art school and receive the recognition he desired, he eventually resorted to vandalism and villainy: graffitiing walls to portray his artwork. He is not malicious, only using his Quirk to deter anyone who tries to stop him, such as the Police Force and Pro Heroes, before making a getaway.
He is recognised by Izuku Midoriya as a person who has faced rejection and is chasing after his dream however he can, even if it landed him on the wrong path. When confronted by Izuku, who reached out and empathised with him, Shinjiro understood his mistakes, believing that he was trying to prove his critics wrong but realizing that he was truly just running away from his problems.
While he has no desire to be a Hero and admits that he isn't one for fighting, Shinjiro also proves to be very brave. When a group of dangerous villains proceeded to rob the commercial building he was in, endangering innocent lives and also shooting up his artwork, Shinjiro stepped in and used his Quirk to help stop them. He is also repentant after seeing his flaws, willing to surrender himself so he could atone for his misdeeds and then continue pursuing art the right way.

Quirk[]
Smile (スマイル Sumairu?): Shinjiro's Quirk allows him to force other people to laugh uncontrollably. He activates his Quirk by showing them his teeth, it also works if his teeth are seen in a mirror or on video, as long as they are seen in real time. Victims of this power will be under its effect for two hours.
Equipment[]
Brushes: The two brushes Shinjiro carries on his hat allows him to paint whatever kind of drawing he wants in whatever color in a matter of seconds.
Springs: Shinjiro carries a pair of attachable springs that he fits onto the bottoms of his shoes. He uses these to boost his mobility and to help in evading pursuers.
Projector: Shinjiro carries a small spherical holographic projector that he can throw like a ball. It projects an image of his face to make people fall victim to his Quirk.
Trivia[]
- Shinjiro's first name contains the kanji of "true," "genuine" (真 shin?), "reign over," "heal" (治 ji?), and "son" (郎 rō?).
- His last name literally means "smile" (微笑 hohoemi?).
- He's described by Kido and Onima to be like Banksy.
- Banksy is a no name artist in England whose identity is basically unknown and does his artwork as graffiti in public places. At first, he was known as a disturbance and a pest who vandalized and was wanted for arrest. Over the years however, he continued to anonymously graffiti his art and people slowly began to enjoy it. His identity is still unknown.
- Shinjiro's English voice actor, Anthony DiMascio, also voices Briareos.
