The Anonymous (アノニマス, Anonimasu^?)^[1] are villains in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. They are a bio-engineered hive mind of drones, created by the Villain Factory to be commanded by Number 6, who serve as antagonists in the Naruhata Lockdown Arc.

Appearance[]

Anonymous are humanoid villains of average build and height, though a few of them vary in these traits. They have a scar across their face similar to Number 6, and a mouth with defined lips similar to the Bombers.^[2] Their extremely veiny skin is sectioned off into different-colored patches that look similar to Number 6's hero costume, and there are orbs located on the backs of their palms and at the center of their chest. They also have clawed feet and hands.

During the Naruhata Lockdown, they wore hats and long-sleeved clothing in order to blend into the crowds.

Personality[]

In a similar manner to the Bombers, the Anonymous lack any personality traits, only being designed to follow orders sent out by Number 6. They also possess a lack of instinct for self-preservation or fear. However, they're much more intelligent, demonstrated in their ability to mimic human emotion and speech as lures.

Synopsis[]

Naruhata Lockdown Arc[]

Sometime during the two years since the Sky Egg Bombing, the Villain Factory used their remaining Bomber cells to create the Anonymous, a bio-engineered hive mind of drones to be commanded by Number 6.

In his goal to kill Kazuho Haneyama, Number 6 devises the multi-step "Operation Anonymous", with the Anonymous at the centre. He proceeds to scatter them around Naruhata disguised as regular citizens, and executes them to use their special organs to unleash an EMP attack, causing a blackout and disabling all electronic communications, starting Phase 1.^[3]

For Phase 2, the Anonymous cause a series of traffic accidents, systematically blocking off major roads to prevent people from entering and leaving the city. Phase 3 has the Anonymous start to cause trouble and havoc in order to create an atmosphere of unease and paranoia among the citizens.

Number 6 was irritated that The Crawler and Eraser Head were able to work together to save some citizens despite the efforts of the Anonymous, but the illusion of O'Clock disregarded it, saying that the only important factor was that All Might would not come to fight an unseen enemy.^[4]

Number 6 noted that the paranoia and isolation the Anonymous had sowed in people were being undone by people's hope in heroes, which he admitted is admirable, but needed to be stopped. Three Anonymous lure The Crawler and Eraser Head down onto the street and attack them, detonating themselves in the process. At the same time, more Anonymous target Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, and Ingenium, catching them all off guard. After Eraser Head defeated them, five more arrived and charged in to attack. Eraser Head sent The Crawler to continue to the hospital while he took on the Anonymous himself.^[5]

Number 6 then took a group of Anonymous and proceeded to storm the hospital that Kazuho was being held in.^[6] He leaves the Anonymous behind to enter the building, knowing that keeping them all together in an in-closed building would be too dangerous, as well also to keep his focus on using Overclock.^[7]

After he's forced to retreat due to the interjection of the Police Force and The Crawler, he sends the Anonymous to deal with each of his enemies, while he attempts to regroup his plan.^[8] However, when The Crawler returns to personally confront Number 6, his focus turns right to the vigilante, leading all the Anonymous in the process of attacking their opponents to stop, with the ones going after the Police taken out by Midnight and her Quirk.^[9]

As the fight between The Crawler and Number 6 continues to escalate, Number 6 executes Phase 6 of Operation Anonymous, transforming himself into the monstrous Hi-Crawler, a form that allows him the capability of permenantly remaining in Overclock's acceleration phase, without any of the weaknesses. Meanwhile, the Police Force had been carefully trying to round up the remaining Anonymous using nets and ropes, when they notice the five that were captured in front of the hospital suddenly start to squirm out of their restraints.

Thanks to the Hi-Crawler state boosting his Overclock and accelerating his cognitive abilities, it allows him simultaneous dynamic control over the Anonymous, letting him command them while still confronting The Crawler. He sends a mob of Anonymous at him, which are all too fast and too many for him to attack, so he's forced to flee. Number 6's hatred towards The Crawler continues to spill out into a web of bloodlust of the Anonymous' continued assault.^[10]

The Crawler tries to give the creatures the slip, but every alley he tries to enter, there are more Anonymous there waiting for him. Flying away to avoid the explosions of the Anonymous, The Crawler notices several civilians still exposed in the streets, as well as more Anonymous preparing to detonate right in front of them. The Crawler jumps in and repels the explosions, protecting the civilians and telling them to take shelter.

Realizing that he can't stick to the main streets or station area or else someone will get hurt, he decides to go for a different option, taking the road straight out of the neighborhood, luring all the Anonymous with him. However, this was all apart of Number 6's trap, using the Anonymous to bait The Crawler to that specific location, with his intention to snipe him from a nearby building. That plan is foiled by the return of Knuckleduster, who pummels the villain, allowing The Crawler the freedom to escape.^[11]

The Crawler manages to evade the Anonymous and returns to help Knuckleduster, leading to his and Number 6's battle moving to the skies. Number 6 achieves his next form, Lightning Style, by transforming the Bomber cells in his body to combusting plasma energy, and goes for one final ditch effort to destroy The Crawler. He stalls for time, seemingly evaporating into nothing but a skeleton. However, he was waiting for the remaining Anonymous to all gather right underneath their battle, ready to catch Number 6.^[12] He proceeds to fuse together with the last of the Anonymous, as their Bomber cells give him all the strength and power he needs for his final transformation, Destruction Style.^[13]

Abilities[]

Coordination: All Anonymous obey the commands of Number 6, almost like a hive mind. This allows them to move and operate in large numbers in a synchronized fashion.^[14] He controls them through parallel processing thanks to his Overclock Quirk, and because of this he must have full focus in order for them to have more precise movements.^[15] Without said focus, the Anonymous are effectively shut down.^[16]

Enhanced Durability: The Anonymous are able to take a repulsion blast from The Crawler without being injured or stunned.^[17]

Electromagnetic Pulse: The Anonymous' bodies contain special EMP organs that can disrupt electronic communication.^[18]

Quirk[]

Self-Detonation (爆発, Bakuhatsu^?): The Anonymous' Quirk allows them to self-destruct at will. Compared to the Bombers and Number 6, the explosions are much less powerful.
