The USS Martin Luther King Jr. was a Federation starship operated by Starfleet during the early 23rd century.
This vessel rescued La'an Noonien-Singh, the sole survivor of the colony ship SS Puget Sound, after she had been set adrift by the Gorn on a Mark IV liferaft. The first crew member on the scene was Ensign Una Chin-Riley. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds")
The ship was presumably named for American civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
