Hector Berlioz was a 19th century French composer.

While patrolling the Romulan Neutral Zone aboard the USS Enterprise-E in 2373, Captain Jean-Luc Picard listened to Vallon sonore from the opera Les Troyens by Berlioz. Commander Riker entered his ready room and mistook it for Bizet. (Star Trek: First Contact)

In a vision of USS Voyager as Gre'thor experienced by B'Elanna Torres in 2376, The Doctor informed her that he would be performing an aria from Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust on the holodeck. (VOY: "Barge of the Dead")

Hector Berlioz was given credit for his composition of "Vallone Sonore" [sic] from "Les Troyens" that was heard in Star Trek: First Contact. The piece in question was performed by Ryland Davies and The Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Opera House, Convent Garden, and was conducted by Sir Collin Davis. Furthermore, the use of the performance was granted courtesy of Phillips Classics by arrangement with PolyGram Film & TV Licensing.
