Synopsis

On her birthday, a nostalgic Jubilee is forced to relive the X-Men's greatest adventures when an entertainment system transports her into a 16-bit video game. Forge and Storm grow closer as Forge tries to restore Storm's mutant powers.

Notes

  • The namesake of Motendo is a parody of Nintendo while the game system itself closely resembles a Sega Genesis. A console that was extremely popular during the 90's.
  • The Retro Graphics of the Motendo TV resembles the graphics of the X-Men 1992 video game.
  • The Intro title card sequence has been updated again: the order now being Magneto, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Morph, Rogue, Beast, Gambit, and Jubilee.
    • Additionally, Jean Grey's hair is now back up in a ponytail.
  • This is the first time Shadowcat has been referenced, she was previously banned from appearing as a studio mandate after the poor reception of Pryde of the X-Men.

Trivia

  • Stage 1: Dystopian Street is a direct reference to Days of Future Past and the beginning of the level references the cover of X-Men #141.
    • The poster has been changed slightly, the order now being Cyclops, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler, Angel, Icemean, Beast, Shadowcat, Gambit, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, Professor X, Polaris, Havok, and Banshee.
