History
Jean Grey was Xavier's first mutant student.[1] Her telepathic powers first manifested as a child, when she witnessed the death of her best friend Annie Richardson. Jean's parents were approached by Charles Xavier, who offered to help her. When she said to Xavier that her parents said that she thinks too much, he reassured her by telepathically saying that he does too.[2]. Jean was a warm hearted friendly person who when necessary stepped in and played peacemaker between Cyclops and Wolverine and the rest of the team.[3]

She was in relationship with Cyclops and the two eventually got married. However their marriage was interrupted by Mr. Sinister and his Nasty Boys who wanted to kidnap them because their genes held the key to creating the perfect mutant. They were rescued by the other X-Men and Mr. Sinister was nearly destroyed by Cyclops.[4]
Later, she assumed the power of the Phoenix Force.[5] However, the power overwhelmed her in time and transformed her into the Dark Phoenix. She is however freed from the cosmic entity and returned to being a X-Man.[6]

The X-Men resolved to sacrifice themselves to stop the asteroid from crashing. Jean projected her and Scott into Cable's mind, so that they could say a final goodbye to their son. With Magneto awakening just in time, the X-Men managed to save the world from the crashing asteroid, before suddenly disappearing, scattered across time.[7]
Six months after her disappearance she was listed as MISSING PRESUMED DEAD on Forge's roster.[7]
The Future[]
Scott and Jean suddenly found themselves in the year 3960 A.D. There, they encountered Clan Askani, as well as a young version of Cable. [7]Attributes
