Zbigniew Brzezinski
Died on May 26, 2017 at age 89
Mr. Brzezinski was a hawkish strategic theorist who became national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter in the tumultuous years of the Iran hostage crisis and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the late 1970s, and who maintained considerable influence on foreign affairs long after his time in the White House.
