A self-made son of immigrant, Mr. Ilitch founded Little Caesars Pizza in a Detroit suburb and owned baseball’s Tigers and hockey’s Red Wings, building a business, sports and entertainment empire that made him one of the richest men in the United States and helped change the face of his native city.
