NV Access is pleased to invite you to participate in the NVDA Satisfaction Survey 2024. At NV Access we are always interested in understanding the satisfaction of our NVDA users. Plus, we like to understand clearly what is important to you, and also identify what we can do more effectively. As in previous years, it is a simple, 3-question survey. It is open to NVDA users and testers around the world. We encourage everyone to complete the NVDA Satisfaction Survey 2024. You can find the survey at: https://lnkd.in/eBRTuWMR As with last year, the survey is on Google Forms however you do not need to have a Google account to submit the form. Completing the survey questions will assist us with improving the NVDA user experience. Please do participate, and share with others, thank you!

Empowering lives through non-visual access to technology
About us
Empowering lives through non-visual access to technology. NV Access is a non-profit organisation based in Australia. We are dedicated to the ideal that blind and vision impaired people should be able to use any type of technology for the same cost as their sighted peers. Our primary aim is to support projects which provide free and open source computer software solutions that enable this accessibility. We develop and support NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access), an award-winning, free, open source screen reader for Microsoft Windows. We also provide a range of training, support and accessibility consulting services related to NVDA and software accessibility in general.

This time last year, NV Access was incredibly grateful to be named as a recipient of the Helen Keller Services (HKS) AccessAbility Award. This award recognises industry leaders who are prioritising accessibility and inclusivity for the blind, DeafBlind and low vision communities. We were incredibly proud to be recognised alongside Kellogg Company, Netflix, Procter & Gamble, NaviLens, and Compass365. Since receiving the award, we have continued to strive towards our goal of ensuring every blind and vision impaired person is able to freely and easily access a computer, through significant updates to NVDA. We thank our dedicated community and our wider supporter base for your ongoing efforts and support!

Now is the time to take advantage of tax deductions before the EOFY. This #EOFY we encourage those who have the means to take some time to donate and help keep improving the NVDA screen reader. At NV Access we believe every blind and vision impaired person deserves equal access to the internet and that’s why enhancing access to technology has always been a huge part of why we do what we do. Whether for employment, education, or pure independence, we have changed the lives of more than 250,000 people in over 175 countries. With your help we can continue to expand our impact and ensure NVDA remains up to date with ever changing technology. Donations can be made at https://lnkd.in/gCMqxV6Z and any donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia. #NVEOFY #FOSS #TaxTime #TaxBreak #Accessibility #GiveBack #Philanthropy

In June 2023, Mick & Jamie, NV Access founders, were honoured with the Philanthropy Innovation Award by Queensland Gives by Queensland Community Foundation. Last night, we were invited back for the launch of Philanthropy week 2024. We are pleased to share this photo of James, Mick and David Oliver (CEO Speld QLD). We often think of Philanthropy as donations by the rich, but it is something we can all do. Philanthropy is broader: "the desire to promote the welfare of others". How can you promote the welfare of others this week? Do you know anyone who might benefit from knowing about NVDA?" #pw24 #PhilanthropyWeek #philanthropyawards #Philanthropy #Queensland #Giving #Innovation #NVDA #ScreenReader #Accessibility

65% of visually impaired people are over 50 years of age, although this age group comprises only 20% of the world's population. Accessible technology benefits everyone. As we age vision impairment becomes more likely. NVDA's free and open-source technology ensures no one is unfairly disadvantaged because of their vision. If you'd like to support NV Access in continuing to provide unparalleled technology in the accessibility space, you can donate here: https://lnkd.in/dTGABwmd. #Donate #NVDA #Support #Blindness #Accessibility #Technology #FOSS #SupportUs

This Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we have something special to share! GitHub made a movie about our founders, Mick and Jamie, and the story of not only NVDA, but OSARA. Two life-changing open-source projects actively providing access, and employment, to blind people around the world. We'd like to thank one of our incredible supporters, Intopia, a leading digital accessibility and equitable design agency. Unfortunately, blind and vision impaired people know all too well the struggle of entering a website and quickly discovering the content is not compatible with a screen reader. Thanks to Intopia, organisations can ensure all digital content is accessible, as it should be.
