Lea Hogge was a Temerian woman and member of the wealthy and influential Hogge family.[1]

Biography[]

Grimmwald[]

At some point in the 13th century, the Hogge sisters worked with the Vivaldi Bank in Vizima and asked the bard Dandelion to write a song for the bank's founding anniversary when he came to visit. They eventually left the city and purchased Grimmwald from Karl Grimm due to its potential for tourism, and because they had funded the town knowing he would run out of money and sell it for dirt cheap. His son Kurt, after his father's subsequent death, was given six months by the sisters to regain the funds they paid to Karl, should he wish to buy back his family seat. People started to leave the town, believing the copper mine - Grimmwald's primary income source - to be dry and so the town doomed, in the process selling their houses for dirt cheap to the sisters. They began fixing up the town, opening fancy new shops, inns, and pubs, causing the rich to start flooding in. Kopek Grimm was enlisted as a servant, as well as Pioter, the local hunter. As a result, the cost of living rose dramatically, and so more original residents were forced to leave. Mama Ela with her namesake inn became one of the last to resist the sister's offers, especially after the recent arrival of a werewolf in the village.[1]

Death[]

In response to this lycanthrope, they posted notices for its death, which were answered soon after by the witcher Geralt of Rivia and his friend Dandelion. They contracted him to kill the beast, after denying the rumors they had hired it themselves. Geralt returned later with the knowledge the werewolf was in reality Kurt Grimm, and so the sisters explained the whole story of his family.

Throughout the night, Kopek, after ages of internal conflict between the Hogges and his brother, transformed into his weredog form and killed Lea. Her sisters found her in the morning, and with the help of a note with an inscribed location in her dead hands, the witcher, Dandelion, and Pioter headed off to Crane Meadow to find Kurt, as they believed him responsible.[1]
