Mama Ela was a Temerian woman who lived in the town of Grimmwald. She owned her namesake tavern there, and was also the grandmother of Red.[1]
Biography[]
Sometime in the presumed mid-13th century, she purchased the tavern after the Grimm family constructed the town. Later, after it came under the control of the Hogge sisters, they offered her heavy sums for the property, wishing to complete control over Grimmwald's economy, though Ela never budged.
Eventually, a doppler, whose partner was killed by Pioter, found Ela, who gave him aid. After a bit of this relationship, she suddenly died or it killed her, burying her near her house and taking her form, so as to begin stealing change and profits from the tavern. This was thwarted weeks later, by the witcher Geralt of Rivia, after discovering Ela's grave.[1]
