Welcome to DarthRage's talkpage!

Greeting: Hello revered visitor! I am HK-47 and my task is to deal with communications between all meatbags and my master DarthRage.

Explanation: If you want to leave greetings, ask questions or suggestions for my master, please turn trustfully to me - after all I am fluent in over 600 languages.

Warning: But if you want to critize or mock my master, I would be forced to execute my killing-protocols and to use "unprovoked violence" -- how my master calls it.

Valediction: Please don't feel bothered by my presence. Basically I am just an "innocent protocol droid".

Statement: Leave your comment under a new category and sign your name.

Boba much?[]

Wow, You really like Boba Fett. That's cool because I love all Fetts!--Cc-7567 lover 00:59, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • Aw man that's cool. Gotta luv the Boba!--Cc-7567 lover 01:10, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

Categories[]

Hi there, I noticed you added the Systems category to 23 Mere system. The article was actually already in a sub-category of the main Systems one so it would be redundant. In other words, when adding new categories to articles, just make sure that they aren't already in a sub-category. Cheers, NAYAYEN:TALK 15:32, May 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • It's fine, I was new too. If an article, such as the Tatoo system is in a category like Systems, it should be put in the "lowest" sub-category. The Tatoo system is in the Outer Rim so it could go in the Outer Rim systems category but, the Outer Rim category also has a sub-category for systems that are in the Arkanis sector in the Outer Rim. Since we know that the Tatoo system is a system in the Arkanis sector, the Arkanis sector systems category is the one to put it in, not any of the parent categories (Systems > Outer Rim systems). If, for sake of argument, the Tatoo system was destroyed, it would aslo go in the destroyed systems category even though this one is a sub-category in the Systems category, it is a different sub-category to the sub-sub-category of the Systems one we've already put it in so we could put the article in both the Destroyed and Arkanis sector systems categories. If it helps, you can think of them as the branches, twigs and then leaves of a tree. Hopefully that should explain everything about how to place articles in sub-categories. 2 Years[]

I just happened to be looking at your userpage, and I noticed that as of today you've been here for two years. Congratz! Maxi6(Speaketh!) 16:23, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

You're very welcome! Maxi6(Speaketh!) 16:30, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Re:User talk:Graestan[]

Thank you for your comments. I am taking them under advisement. No need to hit all the rest of the admins' talk pages. That would be considered spam. Graestan(Talk) 01:47, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Links[]

Example: To make an article with proper plural grammer, place the "s" or "es" outside the bracket. Wikia code automatically makes Force pikes look like Force pikes. Alternatively, use a disguised link. Pikes of Forceyness looks like Pikes of Forceyness. AuntJarJarmaima 09:33, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Cites and such[]

  • Thanks for the compliment. The pictures (except for the one in the infobox) should be aligned left right left right etc. You can do that with this code:

As for citations, you'll need to be adding information from Star Wars sources and then tagging it with refs. This will create the necessary footnotes. For example, if I wanted to add this sentence to the computer article:

"Slicers such as Wraith Squadron's Castin Donn could break into computer systems to steal sensitive data, corrupt security systems, or plant misinformation."

I'd write the sentence, then add this tag at the end of the sentence:

The syntax is

At the bottom of the article, I'd place a ==Notes and references== and add Reflist via this code:

Notes and references
Reflist

This will create an automated list of references like the ones on other high-quality articles. Hope that helps! Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 17:55, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • Just seeing this here, there's one additional thing that Ataru hasn't mentioned. If there are multiple sentences/paragraphs throughout the article with the same reference, you can use a shorter code for the ones after the first one.

This saves you time when citing things. Sorry for butting in =D NAYAYEN:TALK 13:54, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Darth Bane's lightsaber[]

Yes, I already know it doesn't fit the description in PoD. Bane's lightsaber has rarely ever been depicted correctly. I can't do anything about it, take it up with the artist. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 01:47, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Look At[]

Hey Darth Rage, I'm glad to hear that you're interested in getting into the writing process and writing good articles! It's a good way to learn a lot about the many processes of Wookieepedia and to improve your writing. For the computer article, the first thing you need to do is read the manual of style and layout guide to see how to properly present the article. Otherwise, some of the basic things to make sure you know include: when linking, make sure that everything is linked once in the intro, once in the main body, and once in the infobox. Note, too, that speculation is not allowed in articles. Also, from just a precursory glance: considering the number of appearances you have listed, I can say with great certainty that this article could very easily be expanded. Make sure that you go through every single source and appearance of "computer" and add all relevant information on it in the article. You should also double-check that there aren't any more sources or appearances of "computer," as there well may be. Writing a status article—particularly one covering such a broad topic as this—can be a daunting task, but it's also a great accomplishment. When you're just starting out, the best way thing to do is read through Wookieepedia's policies, particularly the manual of style and layout guide, as well as the GAN page rules—and the FAN page rules, too, because I have an inkling that when this article is complete, it will have well over 1,000 words, and will thus be eligible for Featured Article status—and make sure you meet all the requirements. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :) Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 03:24, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes, one of the most important things to do before you nominate an article for good or featured status is to make sure you have all relevant information included in the article. As nominator of the article, it's your duty to make sure that every appearance or mention of a computer is included in the appearances and sources lists. If you don't own the sources/appearances, you can always try finding them at a local library, or even browsing a book store if you need to; but if you don't have any access to the appearances/sources at all, usually then the best thing to do is ask a user who does have them to see if they can give you any relevant information on the topic. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 16:22, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Sources and Appearances on Computer page[]

I removed the Republic Commando novels from the Computer page as they were already listed under Appearances section as they should be according to the manual of style and layout guide. --Rexas 14:31, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Userbox[]

Absolutely! In fact, you'll find most users just "borrow" userboxes from one another. Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 09:45, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Article potential[]

  • For a GAN, not even close. Think about all the Star Wars sources that include computers. You'd need to have at the very least a significant portion of the information from them included to merit a GAN. For your first GA, I recommend a simpler, narrower topic that has appearances or mentions only in sources that you have access to. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 17:26, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Inuse[]

First of all, you need to understand that the inuse tag is not a way for you or anyone to put an article on lockdown indefinitely. It's designed as a way to inform people that you are actively working on an article at that immediate time, so that they do not interrupt you and cause an edit conflict. If you plan on working on an article over several days or weeks, it's recommended that you take your project to a personal subpage where you can work on the article at your leisure without someone interrupting you, which as you can see is likely to happen in the mainspace. The two users you refer to who edited through the inuse tag did so when you were clearly not editing the article at that time, so to answer your question, no, I don't consider them to be in the wrong. If you don't want people editing your version of the article, again, I recommend creating a subpage for yourself. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:50, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

GAN objection[]

Hello again, DarthRage. Please be aware that you currently have one unstricken objection on the Tyrn Jiton Good article nomination. Before a nomination can be archived as successful, all objection points from reviewers must be stricken. Even though you have supported the nomination, as a formality we still ask that you go ahead and strike the objection. If you do not strike the objection soon, the AgriCorps may intervene for the sake of expediency. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:49, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

WP:KOTOR meeting[]

There's a meeting on the project's IRC at 0:00 UTC Friday (8:00 PM EST, 5:00 PST, etc.) Look forward to seeing you there!—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 04:51, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes. you're correct. In 10 minutes actually, see you there!—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 23:51, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

List of resources[]

Hello. In the recent WookieeProject Knights of the Old Republic meeting, held on July 30th, it was decided that a list of KotOR-related resources each member had access to would be created for use in conjunction with a new requests page. If you have the time, please add yourself to the list, or contact me via talk page or e-mail. Thanks, SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 09:03, July 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • No, it is to be set up so that others looking for information they don't have can see who does have access to the sources they need. Similarly to what Kasra has done on the page, you should add your name and list every KotOR-related resource you own. Of course, if you need info yourself, you will be able to refer to the page and then make requests from them. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 22:58, July 30, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Revan[]

I'm not sure if we need a section devoted to the Ebon Hawk, I haven't seen this done in other srticles. If I stuck that image in the "Into the unknown" section, that might work.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 18:06, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • No worries. Just made some edits to the article, like I said at the meeting, feel free to edit!—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 18:13, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Meeting[]

I was thinking that as well. I might see if we can have one on the 28th, 8:00 PM EST, but the meeting also needs to be held on a date where there isn't an Inq/AC meeting.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 23:58, August 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • Cool, man. After Xd's done, I'll review Ven for you. Right now I'm working on Darth Revan's Sith Holocron.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 00:49, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
    • You mean right this minute? Because I can go on anytime I'm connected to the Internet, have to do it with an area where there's a wifi hotspots. When I'm at home, I'm not connected, unfortunately, it seems I live in the only place in our county where I cannot get high-speed access, even though a guy down out street has it! Anyway, I go to the gas station, library, or even McD's to come on here. I'll try to access the channel in a few.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 01:02, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
      • I was talking about the IRC. If I sounded cynical (or whatever) I didn't mean to, I was just explaining my internet situation. Thanks for the invite! I actually used to be on, like, every time I was online. Need to get back on that.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 01:12, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
        • Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look into that!—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 01:18, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
          • This Saturday, if we can at 8:00 PM. Technically, on here, it's 0:00 Sunday. Cylka hasn't gotten baqck to me yet, unfortunately.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 00:51, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Merge[]

I am going to revert your edits once more, because we need to discuss this before merging the articles together. Please use the talk pages rather than unilaterally merging all the articles into one. Thank you. Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 01:13, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • If I might interject, I am the one who suggested merging the articles. The entire series relating to the Battle of Yavin needs cleaned up. Several articls can be combined (not just redirected), as they come from separate sources but deal with the same "incident." i would have done it myself, but I lack the technical skills to fully merge the content of the articles. I talked with Tope on a senate hall page about the subject: Forum:SH:Battle of Yavin Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 14:07, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

KotOR meeting[]

Hey DarthRage. Sure, we could have a meeting this Saturday. I was wondering if there was a particular reason that you wanted one soon or do you just feel that it's time for another one? Let me know. Thanks. Cylka-talk- 01:20, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Deleted my edit[]

Why did you delete my edit to Form VII: Juyo/ Vaapad in the known moves and maneuvers section? Unsigned comment by 81.157.109.142 (talk • contribs).

  • See you talk page. --DarthRageLeave a message after the beep 12:03, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

As a member of the TOR WookieeProject I am messaging you to ask if you would consider voting. Thanks. Alexsau1991 (talk page) SithEmblem-Traced-TORkit 17:39, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

WP:RWM and LMW[]

Hello. I don't believe we've met. Anyway, I just wanted to invite you to LifeMusic Wiki, a wiki on Christian music, as I see you are a Christian. Also, if you are interested, we'd love to have you WP:RWM. MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 01:42, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

WP:NSW check-in[]

Knighterrant5cvr
A look to the future…
Hello Darth Rage, happy new year! This is a friendly check-in from your new project head of WookieeProject New Sith Wars. Our activity has been lagging a bit of late, with only one new Featured article and one new Good article in the last three months, and no Comprehensive articles at all since their creation back in June. If you're still interested in participating in the project, I'd like to encourage you to pick an article or two to write and mark it down on our current projects listing when you have the chance. Also, if you have any questions/suggestions regarding WP:NSW, don't hesitate to ask/let me know. Let's see if we can't get this project up and running! Cheers! Your project head, Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 07:14, January 4, 2011 (UTC)

WP:KOTOR[]

At 0:00 UTC (8:00 PM EST), I will be assuming responsibilities for leading this project, due to my predecessor Cylka's inactivity. Wherever she is, I wish her well in her endeavors, and should she come back, I will gladly turn over leadership back to her. Over the next few weeks, I look forward to reviewing more articles and also wish to get more KotOR-related projects off the ground, and look forward to moving forward to bettering this project and ultimately Wookieepedia. Thank you for your continued service to Wookieepedia.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 01:00, December 20, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you[]

Hey, Rage. I'm not sure much more needs to be said, but thank you once more for your support and all your kind words on the RFB nomination. Hope you can find some time to return to editing regularly again. :) Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 06:02, January 11, 2013 (UTC)
