During the Clone Wars, a Sheathipede-class transport shuttle served within the naval forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, where it was utilized as the personal shuttle of the Kaleesh Separatist General Grievous, who was gifted the craft by the confederate government as a result of his high-ranking position. In 19 BBY, Grievous utilized the Sheathipede-class transport shuttle in his transportation to the planet Utapau in the war's final days.

Description[]

As a Sheathipede-class transport shuttle, the vessel^[1] measured to 14.4 meters in length^[2] and was propelled by two engine units equipped at its stern. Owned by the Kaleesh Separatist Alliance General Grievous, the shuttle retained its initial cockpit^[3] from where the craft was piloted by two OOM pilot battle droids^[1] as opposed to the automated piloting systems implemented into the Sheathipede-class vessels utilized by Neimoidians.^[3] Furthermore, the shuttle also possessed forward mounted lights as well as an aft-mounted blast door from where the craft's main cabin was accessible from a retractable boarding ramp.^[1]

At some point during the time of the Clone Wars, fought between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, the confederate government presented the Kaleesh General Grievous, the Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Army, with a personal Sheathipede-class transport shuttle as a result of the Confederacy's consideration of him as a high-ranking individual within the government.^[3] In 19 BBY,^[4] several days after the Confederacy's failed assault on the Republic capital world^[4] of Coruscant, which resulted in Grievous's succession of the deceased confederate leader, Count Dooku, as Head of State, the Kaleesh was transported to the planet Utapau in an attempt to conceal himself within the Outer Rim Territories, where he was brought aboard a Separatist stronghold on the tenth level of the capital, Pau City.^[1]
