"I don't remember much of my life before the Jedi, but I remember a little. Images mainly. Faces. A man and a woman who I think were my parents, although I can't be sure. But I was playing with someone when the Seeker knocked on our door. Another girl. My sister."
―Oliviah Zeveron, to Elecia Zeveron[1]

An individual was a Jedi seeker in the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era. By 382 BBY, he visited the Force-sensitive sisters Elecia and Oliviah Zeveron to recruit them into the Order. After the two showed the Seeker tricks with the Force, he only left with Oliviah, and Elecia was left behind because she was only mildly Force-sensitive.

During the Battle of Jedha that year, the two sisters crossed paths, leading Oliviah to discover memories of her life before becoming a Jedi Knight, including the two sisters playing with the Force for the Seeker. Not long later, the two again encountered one another on the planet Dalna, where Oliviah revealed Elecia's secret Force-sensitivity and her rejection by the Seeker to members of the Path of the Open Hand cult.

Biography[]

"That's what I thought when I saw you on Jedha. The Force spoke to me, unearthing memories I never knew I had: the two of us playing for the Jedi who'd come for me, showing him tricks. I could make our building blocks lift from the floor just by thinking about it, and my sister, my older sister, could get people to do things for her just by being near them."
―Oliviah Zeveron, to Elecia Zeveron[1]

Years before[1] 382 BBY,[2] a Force-sensitive individual served as a Jedi seeker[1]—a Jedi tasked with searching the galaxy for Force-sensitive children[3]—in the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era. At one point, he visited the sisters Elecia and Oliviah Zeveron so they could be taken to be trained as Jedi. As he watched, the two girls played with the Force and showed him tricks—Oliviah was able to make building blocks lift from the floor just by thinking about it, and Elecia was able to persuade people to do things for her just by being near them. In the end, the Seeker only took Oliviah with him, rejecting her older sister because of her[1] mild Force-sensitivity.[4] The rejection left Elecia bitter for years to come, believing the Seeker should have taken her instead.[1]

By 382 BBY,[2] Elecia had risen to become the leader of a cult called the Path of the Open Hand, which opposed the Jedi Order because of the Path's belief that the Force was not to be used, while its members were unaware of Elecia's past and Force-sensitivity. Oliviah, meanwhile, became a Jedi Knight in the Order. Though she remembered little of her life before the Jedi, the Jedi Knight did remember playing with her sister when the Seeker knocked on their door.[1] That year,[2] the Path instigated the Battle of Jedha on the holy moon Jedha, and during the battle, the two sisters crossed paths in the Holy City. As a result, the Force spoke to Oliviah, unearthing memories she was unaware she had, including her and Elecia playing and showing tricks to the Seeker.[1]

Later that year,[2] the sisters again encountered each other, this time during[1] the Night of Sorrow[4] on the planet Dalna. During the encounter, Oliviah revealed to Elecia's fellow Path members Werth Plouth and Marda Ro—as well as Jedi Padawan Matthea Cathley—the truth about Elecia: that she was Force-sensitive and that the two were sisters. Elecia did not believe they were sisters, though she accepted after Oliviah spoke her family name. The Jedi Knight then informed all present that she had been taken by the Seeker and of Elecia's rejection. Afterward, Plouth and Ro began to realize that Elecia had come to resent the Jedi because she was not good enough and they had not taken her seriously.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Jedi seeker was first mentioned in the 2023 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Vengeance, written by Cavan Scott as part of[1] the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II.[5]
