- "My legs aren't moving, I must need maintenance."
- ―The droid upon entering battle
A B1 battle droid in the Geonosian droid army served in the Petranaki Arena during the First Battle of Geonosis. The battle droid had its head grafted onto the chassis of C-3PO when the protocol droid had gotten trapped in the droid factory's conveyor belt system. Meanwhile, C-3PO's own head was grafted onto a B1 battle droid chassis.[1]
During the ensuing battle, both the B1 droid and C-3PO engaged in battle with various Jedi. The battle droid remarked on its inability to move as fast as its other B1 allies, but surmised it as a maintenance issue. Later in the battle, the droid fired on a lone human Jedi, who deflected the blaster fire back at it, resulting in its decapitation. Following the battle, R2-D2 reattached C-3PO's head to his original body.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The unidentified battle droid was voiced by Matthew Wood[5] in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.
