"Here's what I'm requesting: TIE strikers (two squadrons): We recently loaned these squadrons to the Unassailable. I want them back. The TIE/sk is ideal for atmospheric patrolling, and our pilots and bombardiers need them for flight training."
―General Ramda, in a transmission to Lieutenant Berretic[1]

The Unassailable was a vehicle in service to the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. The Imperial Scarif Deployment loaned two squadrons of TIE strikers to the Unassailable; however, shortly after this, Scarif's General Sotorus Ramda requested that the fighters be returned. The request was later compiled into the Rebel Alliance's The Rebel Files.

Description[]

The vehicle Unassailable featured a complement of at least two squadrons of TIE/sk x1 experimental air superiority fighters.[1]

History[]

TIE striker in-atmosphere

Two squadrons of TIE strikers (pictured) were loaned to the Unassailable.

During the Imperial Era, the Unassailable was loaned two squadrons of TIE strikers from the Imperial forces stationed on the Outer Rim Territories planet Scarif. However, shortly after this, Scarif Deployment General Sotorus Ramda sent a transmission to Lieutenant Berretic, which included several requests that were to be rewritten in official formatting and distributed through the Oversector until the requests were met by one of the sector admirals. One of the requests was that the Unassailable's TIE striker squadrons be returned, since the fighters were ideal for atmospheric patrolling, and pilots and bombardiers needed them for flight training.[1]

The transmission was subsequently intercepted by the Rebel Alliance.[1] In 1 BBY,[2] immediately prior to the Battle of Scarif, rebel General Davits Draven suggested that the requisition orders may be several months out of date. At some point, rebel archivist Hendri Underholt compiled Ramda's transmission in The Rebel Files, a compilation of information, reports, and accounts belonging to the Alliance, in the "Alliance Chron 2" section,[1] spanning approximately between 5 BBY and 0 ABY.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

The Unassailable was mentioned in Star Wars: The Rebel Files, a 2017 reference book written by Daniel Wallace.[1]

  2. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to 1 BBY. Davits Draven's discussion of Sotorus Ramda's requisition orders were made in preparation for the Battle of Scarif, as shown in Star Wars: The Rebel Files. Since the battle was conceived, prepared for, and staged during Rogue One, Draven's comments must have been made in that year.
  3. Star Wars: The Rebel Files states that The Rebel Files' "Alliance Chron 2" section, which mentions the Unassailable, spans 14–17 AFE, or fourteen to seventeen years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 19 BBY. Therefore, those dates equate to between 5 BBY and 2 BBY. However, the section also includes information on events immediately following the Battle of Yavin, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 0 ABY. Therefore, the section spans approximately between 5 BBY and 0 ABY.
