Tredgar Volk was a lizard-like alien who scraped by as a bounty hunter. In 9 BBY, he spent time in the courtyard lounge outside the Den on the planet Daiyu before going for a meal of ribs at Swartz BBQ. As he ate, the bounty hunter received a notification informing him of a bounty placed on the fugitive Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi. Abandoning his meal, Volk left to hunt for the Jedi.
Volk then encountered Kenobi on the city's rooftops, where the Jedi was chasing after Princess Leia Organa. The alien opened fire on Kenobi, forcing the target into cover as he attempted to return fire and follow the princess. After Kenobi grazed Volk with a shot, the bounty hunter droid 1-JAC joined the fight from another rooftop. Firing on both hunters, Kenobi eventually hit Volk in the chest, fatally wounding the hunter and causing him to fall to the street below.

Tredgar Volk was eating ribs when he learned of the bounty on Kenobi.
Tredgar Volk was a reptilian alien that scraped by through bounty hunting as a way of life, getting what[2] he[3] wanted at the end of a blaster rifle.[2] In 9 BBY,[1] Volk spent time on the planet Daiyu and was sat with two humans in[4] a courtyard lounge[3] outside the Den when the Jedi-in-hiding Obi-Wan Kenobi approached the establishment in search of the kidnapped Princess Leia Organa. The bounty hunter was still in the courtyard when the Imperial Inquisitor known as the Third Sister arrived while hunting Kenobi, and he watched her as she entered the building. When the Inquisitor then left after failing to apprehend Kenobi, Volk was also still seated.[4]
Volk later left the courtyard and sat down alone for a meal of ribs at a street table at Swartz BBQ. While the bounty hunter ate, the Third Sister had her underling Vect Nokru post a bounty for Kenobi in the hopes that he would be forced out into the open for her to find by the city's various bounty hunters, although she did not expect any of them to be capable of defeating him. Volk received an alert about the bounty via a wrist device and grabbed his blaster rifle, abandoning the meal. He climbed onto the rooftops of the city and there encountered Organa, who had been scared by the bounty and was fleeing from Kenobi on a separate rooftop.[4]

As Kenobi caught up to Organa, the princess ducked through a clothesline while Volk opened fire on his target, forcing the Jedi to take cover behind a glowing vent. The Jedi then returned fire with a blaster pistol, hitting the wall behind Volk and causing the bounty hunter to duck and cease firing. This gave Kenobi an opening to chase Organa, but Volk quickly began firing again as the Jedi moved across the rooftops after her. After retaking cover, Kenobi fired[4] and grazed the hunter,[3] but Volk just growled and kept firing as the bounty hunter droid 1-JAC also joined the shootout from another rooftop.[4]
Tredgar Volk was fatally wounded by Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Kenobi struggled to fend off the two hunters,[3] firing on both in turn as he called out to Organa, who had reached the edge of a building and was preparing to jump. The Jedi then fatally shot Volk in the chest, and the bounty hunter let out a screeching roar before tumbling forward off the building and into the street below. Kenobi then evaded 1-JAC while saving Organa from a fall after she jumped, with the pair ultimately escaping the bounty hunters and Inquisitors by leaving Daiyu.[4]
Personality and traits[]
Tredgar Volk was both lizard[2] and dinosaur-like.[3] He had yellow eyes and scaly gray skin.[4]
Equipment[]
Volk wore a red jacket with a black collar and matching red pants, as well as a brown belt and black boots. He used a triple-barreled blaster rifle and had a wrist-device capable of alerting him to bounties.[4]

Tredgar Volk was portrayed by creature performer Cary Gunnar Lee[6] in the second episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series,[4] which aired on May 26, 2022.[7] Lee's head came up to where Volk's chin and neck met on the costume[8] and he had issues fitting its fingers through the trigger guard on the character's weapon.[9] As it was primarily a stunt based role, Lee did not recieve a script, but nicknamed the character Falafel or "Phal'afel"[5] Prior to the release of the show, Volk was revealed in a teaser trailer that was released on March 9, 2022. Neither the trailer[10] or the series identified the character,[4] with Volk then receiving his name on a card in the 2023 Topps Disney Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi set released by The Topps Company, Inc. in 2023.[2]
