- "Native to Kashyyyk, the trakkrrrn's meat has a natural spiciness that is brought to the surface when cooked low and slow."
- ―Strono Tuggs, The Life Day Cookbook
The trakkrrrn was a type of creature native to the forest planet Kashyyyk, homeworld of the sentient Wookiees. The creature had naturally spicy meat that was cooked on the bone and served with sauce to make the dish Barbecued Trakkrrrn Ribs. The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs claimed that cooking the meat slowly at a low heat was the best way to bring the spiciness to the surface, and included a recipe for Barbecued Trakkrrrn Ribs in his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, which was released at some point after his first cookbook was published[1] in 34 ABY.[2] Tuggs claimed that the dish would leave any Wookiee satisfied, as he never seen them eat anything faster then they did a plate of Barbecued Trakkrrrn Ribs.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, the trakkrrrn was first mentioned in the 2021 Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. In the out-of-universe recipe for Barbecued Trakkrrrn Ribs, the trakkrrrn meat is represented by baby back pork ribs.[1] Trakkrrrn originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first mentioned in the 1998 novel Rebel Dawn, which was written by A. C. Crispin.[3]
