Training tunics were garments worn by Jedi Initiates and Padawans during sessions practicing lightsaber combat, along with training lightsabers. During the High Republic Era, Padawans and younglings practiced lightsaber duels with training sabers—lightsabers which were low-powered so as not to be lethal but which still hurt on contact—and training tunics. The tunics were made of a snowy white fabric and sensitive to heat, such that a direct hit from a training saber during sparring would leave a scorch mark on the tunic.[1]
