"Let's get to cruising altitude with a tribute to a song that swept the galaxy."
―R-3X introduces "Til the Spire"[1]

"Til the Spire" was a tribute song to a song that had been popular across the galaxy.[1] In 34 ABY,[2] the RX-Series pilot droid R-3X played "Til the Spire" on the radio station BSO 401.72 in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, telling listeners that he loved the song.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

"Til the Spire" was created for the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[1] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.[3] It can be heard playing during the land's background radio loop.[1]

The Star Wars Book dates the Battle of Batuu, which is depicted in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge via the attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, to 34 years after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the events of A New Hope to 0 BBY; therefore, the events of Galaxy's Edge, including the appearance of "Til the Spire," must take place in 34 ABY.
