"Tenek."
"Cassian."
"Where's Bix?"
[Tenek nods Cassian in the right direction] "I'm sorry about your mother."
―Cassian Andor and Tenek[1]

Tenek was a human[1] cook[2] who worked at[1] Hotel Rix[3] on the planet Ferrix while the building was used as a base of operation by the Galactic Empire.[1] In 5 BBY,[4] Tenek entered the kitchen with a tray while a funeral procession was taking place outside for the local woman Maarva Andor. Once in the kitchen, Tenek found[1] himself[2] held at blaster point by Maarva's son, Cassian, but the intruder lowered the weapon once he recognized the cook.[1]

Andor had snuck into the building to find Bix Caleen, a prisoner of the Empire being held there, and he asked Tenek where she was being held. The cook silently nodded him[1] in the right direction,[2] passing on his condolences over Maarva's death. Andor then rescued Caleen and escaped without the alarm being raised. Tenek had light skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. While in the kitchen, he wore a brown outfit including an apron and a hat.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Tenek was portrayed by Gavin Spokes in "Rix Road," the twelfth episode of the first season of the Disney+ television series Andor,[1] which aired on November 23, 2022.[5]
