Instructions

This template is to be used for citing individual pages on HoloNet News. As of October 2013, all HoloNet News links are completely inaccessible.

At least some entries still exist on the Internet Archive, which can be linked using the standard archive links. Please note that the last saved version for some entries are error pages, so you might have to dig through the timeline on Internet Archive in order to find a working revision.

Usage

Copy the template code below, fill the required fields, and remove any that you don't use.

Required parameters

|issue= Issue number, found in the URL immediately after http://www.holonetnews.com/ and before the subsequent /. For example, it would be 52 as highlighted in the following URL: http://www.holonetnews.com/52/regional/13418_2.html.
|url= URL of the web page, minus the domain name and issue number (explained above). For example, it would be regional/13418_2.html as highlighted in the following URL: http://www.holonetnews.com/52/regional/13418_2.html.
|text= Title used on the web page being cited.

Backup links

Instructions for providing a backup link

In accordance with our Sourcing policy, all links to external sites must include a link to a backup version, preferably using Internet Archive. Instances that do not include one of the following parameters will result in the page being placed in the maintenance category. Please only use one of the following parameters.

This parameter uses the timestamp feature of Internet Archive. The URL supplied earlier in the template, along with archivedate, will provide a link to Internet Archive.
|archiveurl=https://archive.is/EfD8P
If Internet Archive does not work for the link in question, you can use archiveurl to provide a full URL to another backup website, such as archive.today.

If none of the archiving sites work, then upload a screenshot of the page, add {{Notorphan}} to the file page and include it in this category and on this page, and provide a link to the file (per Wookieepedia:Mofferences/June 29, 2014).
|nobackup=1
If no backup link can be found for content that is no longer available, this parameter can be used. If the content is still available, you can screenshot and upload it to Wookieepedia instead.
|nolive=1
If the original content is no longer available, this parameter can be used, which will make the template add "content now obsolete;" to the citation. This may also mean a backup link can no longer be provided, and therefore may be used as well as |nobackup=1. Some citation templates such as {{SWArchive}} link to older content that is known to be no longer available, and therefore automatically default to |nolive=1 without the need to add the parameter manually.

Note that for citation templates using a central repository (for example, Module:ArchiveAccess/SW), archivedate values must be added to the repository, and not on the individual instance of those templates.
